Green Juice: What's the fuss?

The rise of the green juice has been a fast & phenomenal one. Everywhere you look from Instagram to your daily newspaper, up pops an image of either your friend or your favourite celebrity toting a freshly squeezed green juice as though it were the new Mulberry Bayswater. So, what's the fuss?

The base (main ingredient) to these green juices is usually either kale or spinach, neither of which packs a strong punch taste wise, but in terms of nutrients they're hard to beat. Kale really is the king of the super healthy greens. High in vitamins A & C it's one of the healthiest and most nutritious plant foods around. Spinach is high in vitamin C, iron, copper & folate. By putting either one of these greens into your juices you are getting a huge dose of your RDAs without really trying.

Of course the best way to consume your fresh juice is to buy a juicer so that you can create your own at home. But if you don't have your own juicer or you ran out of time in the morning, then you can grab great tasting juices on the High St that are still jam packed with goodness & vitamins.

The juices photographed are super tasty & they're not crammed full of overbearing banana (yes, i'm looking at you Innocent Smoothies!) Not a banana in sight. Congrats M&S.

If you are creating your own juices, always try to use more vegetables than fruits but that is something that you can get your tastebuds acclimatised to overtime. In addition to your green base, juice up a bit of pineapple/apple, ginger, cucumber, sugar snap peas, celery, lime & you've got yourself a very tasty, drink that will do your body no end of good.

I thoroughly recommend the juices from Juice Master Jason Vale. In fact I don't look anywhere else for recipes. Visit https://www.juicemaster.com for recipe ideas & links to Jason Vales's best selling apps.

In summary, a Green Juice contains natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, immune boosting, vitamin-laden ingredients. I reckon that's a bandwagon worth jumping on!
